New Market Research on Brands, Proposals and Profits Released
STOUGHTON, WI – A recent analysis of third-party logistics providers reports on brand recognition, request for proposals and expected operating margins. Based on a survey of 3PL executives, the report updates a similar study from five years ago.
UPS SCS and DHL/Exel are identified as the most recognized brands. C.H. Robinson, Ryder and Menlo Worldwide lead a second group with well-recognized brands.
The average 3PL surveyed has 11 salesmen and receives over 60 requests for proposals a year. 62% of the yearly increase in business is generated from the RFI/RFP process. 38% of new business is from direct sales.
The report includes a table of expected operating profit margins. The most significant changes are for transportation management services, underpinning supply chains. Gainsharing is also discussed.
