Globelink-Trans (Tianjin) International Forwarding Co., Ltd. was founded in 1995. Headquartered in Tianjin, it has around 20 offices in China. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore’s CWT Globelink Group, one of the Asia’s leading NVOCCs (non-vessel operating common carriers). Before 2005, it was a joint venture company between CWT and Sinotrans Inner Mongolia branch. Now, CWT holds all the shares.

The CWT Groups’ network covers 48 countries with about 200 offices globally. It is able to reach more than 120 ports and deliver to more than 1,200 destinations globally. It is a key LCL (less-than-containerload) player in the Asian market.

Globelink-Trans (Tianjin) International Forwarding has an NVOCC license for ocean freight, Class A license for air freight, customs broker license for customs clearance and broker license for CIQ inspection (approved by the Tianjin Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Bureau). It has a regular warehouse and bonded warehouse in Tianjin with its own trucks for distribution. Globelink-Trans can provide a total logistics solution to customers.

For ocean LCL and FCL exports, it handles about 2,000 LCL and 2,000 FCL TEUs (20′ container/trailer equivalent units) per month in Tianjin. It has contracts with more than 10 carriers such as CMA, COSCO, Maersk, etc. It also has an 80,000 square meter container yard with many carriers’ containers to provide customers with the most convenient selection. In order to provide further convenience to customers, it has a 24-hour internet platform that provides information on cargo delivery status, rates and also online booking.

For ocean imports, it can obtain lower rates, shorter delivery times and secure handling because of its good network at the origin port. In China, it can ensure a speedy and quality import customs clearance and cargo inspection service. The service also includes the splitting of import LCLs, un-stuffing of FCLs, customs clearance of personal effects, import transfer to customs, etc.

For customs clearance, Globelink-Trans is certified by customs as a Category A customs broker. It was awarded “Outstanding Customs Broker Enterprise” in 2010. The company handles an average of 4,200 declarations per month and maintains an error rate between 1.0 to 1.2 percent.

For cargo inspection, it received a CIQ license in 2005. It has four representative offices in Tianjin for handling cargo inspections. In 2012, it started operating a station in the Tianjin airport to facilitate the inspection and quarantine service for air freight.

Globelink-Trans has an 8,000 square meter warehouse for temporary cargo storage.

Most customers of Globelink-Trans are logistics companies, including large 3PLs. Most of the 3PLs need its LCL services. It is developing direct customers. FOTON Beijing and CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited are direct customers.

Globelink-Trans (Tianjin) International Forwarding Co., Ltd. is a strong LCL player in China. With the global network of CWT, it is a key competitor in the market. If it puts more focus on direct customers, it will be more competitive.
