AWOT Global is a Guangzhou based logistics company focused on freight forwarding, administration and finance. Although headquartered in Guangzhou, its operations are based in Shanghai. AWOT has more than 500 employees working in 24 branch offices in China mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

AWOT has an NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) license for ocean freight and Class A license for air freight. The main destinations served are South East Asia, North America and Europe. AWOT has contracts with main ocean shipping lines to keep competitive rates. Its annual ocean cargo volume is over 70,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). AWOT is a top air freight sales agent for Emirates, China Airlines, Japan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Air China and other major carriers. The main origin gateways are Hong Kong, Shanghai and Guangzhou and the main destination gateways are Los Angeles, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam.

As a Class A license holder for air freight, AWOT has to cooperate with other logistics providers for space control which means that AWOT acts as a booking agent for air freight. Nearly 50% of its air freight comes from other logistics providers. Key global 3PLs use AWOT as subcontractor for local air freight forwarding.

Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. (TSMC), ON Semiconductor and other semiconductor and electronics manufacturers are its customers. Otis Elevator uses AWOT for air imports. In order to develop business from Fortune 500 companies, AWOT pays close attention to sales team building to cooperate with overseas agents. Customers in the food, e-commerce and exhibition industries are its focus.

As most of the cargo volume is exported from China, AWOT plans to develop its imports business to balance its exports and imports. Developing imports business from Japan and South Korea will be first.

AWOT has regular charter flights exporting China’s main gateways of Shanghai, Hong Kong and Guangzhou. This makes the company’s brand very well-known in China’s local logistics market.

With its business growth and development, AWOT set up its own IT team to expand its information system, EDI (electronic data interchange) and for internet technology development.

AWOT has a young management team with strong facilities in ocean and air freight in China. Developing a strong network overseas will help AWOT grow its import business and profit margin.
