As
Vice President for Armstrong & Associates, Inc., Kurt serves both 3PLs and
shippers. His consulting services focus on 3PL strategic planning, M&A
support, supply chain optimization, warehousing and transportation
performance improvement and cost management, IT systems implementation and
staffing.
Prior to joining A&A, Kurt held leadership
positions in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Supply Chain Consulting Practice (now,
IBM) and GE Healthcare’s Global Supply Chain Operations Group. He has 20
years of experience in industry and professional consulting. Kurt earned a
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management from UW-Madison and a Six Sigma
Black Belt from General Electric.
Clients value Kurt’s ability to leverage
both operational analysis and A&A’s leading 3PL market research to identify
critical gaps and offer insightful perspective to 3PL business strategy. He
has helped dozens of 3PLs to grow their businesses more profitably, by
crafting effective Business Plans that identify strategic growth
initiatives, organizational changes and investment requirements and
financial projections. Kurt helps 3PL clients to develop marketing and sales
promotions programs, implement facilities and IT projects, and hire capable
human resources.
His capabilities translate directly to M&A
support work, especially for Operational Due Diligence. Kurt has performed
M&A DD on behalf of both strategic buyers and major investors, who really
want to know what lies below the financial statements.
Kurt participates in A&A research and
publication, such as 3PL Site Visit Write-Ups. He substantially revised the
North American Warehousing Study for 2010, which was very well-received by
the industry. He serves on the board of The Logistics Council (TLC). He is
past-president of both TLC and the CSCMP Milwaukee Roundtable. Kurt
occasionally lectures for UW Supply Chain Management Executive Education and
speaks at educational seminars and trade events, such as TLC, CSCMP, WWA,
and eyefortransport.
