As the Consulting Services Director for
Armstrong & Associates, Inc., Kurt serves both 3PLs and shippers. His
consulting services focus on business planning, supply chain optimization,
warehousing and transportation performance improvement, cost management, and
IT systems. He has sixteen years of experience in industry and professional
consulting.
Kurt acquired his consulting skills from
the Big 5, working as a Senior Consultant in Ernst & Young, LLP’s Supply
Chain Practice (now Cap Gemini) and later as a Consulting Principal in
PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Supply Chain Practice (now IBM), providing both
business process improvement and supply chain systems integration services
to several Fortune 500 companies in the automotive, retail and industrial
verticals. His improvement initiatives encompassed organizational design,
process control, inventory and freight cost reduction, total landed cost
analysis, technology integration, network optimization and facilities
design.
Kurt has a broad range of industry
experience in global supply chain management from supplier collaboration
through customer delivery with demonstrated capabilities in demand planning,
inventory management, supplier collaboration, and transportation and
warehouse operations. Prior to joining Armstrong & Associates, Inc., he led
programs for Manufacturing Strategy and Lean Enterprise at GE Healthcare
within the Global Supply Chain organization. This included coordinating work
teams in India, Japan, France, China and Mexico to implement best practices,
technology and performance measurement systems.
Kurt holds a Master’s degree in Supply
Chain Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was certified
as a Six Sigma Black Belt by General Electric. Kurt serves as the President
of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals – Milwaukee
Roundtable. He is an instructor for UW Supply Chain Management Executive
Education and is a member of the Milwaukee World Trade Association. He
speaks at educational seminars and trade events, such as CSCMP and Eye For
Transport.
