Qingdao Shanghaitong International Logistics Co., Ltd. (SHT Logistics) is a third-party logistics provider (3PL) of warehousing, customs clearance, distribution and transportation in the Qingdao Free Trade Zone (FTZ). The company was founded in 2007 and has 30 employees. In addition to its Chinese name, the company’s brand name in English is SAN HEIGHT Logistics.

SHT Logistics’ warehouse in the Qingdao FTZ is 12,000 square meters and is used mainly for ocean import shipments. Since SHT Logistics is not an ocean freight forwarder, the shipments are arranged by 3PLs of the shipper or consignee. If needed, SHT Logistics can provide ocean freight forwarding through other forwarders and their agents overseas.

When providing warehousing in the FTZ, port service is important. SHT Logistics has good experience in port service and the port is near the FTZ. SHT Logistics has 15 tractors to transport containers from the port to the warehouse. Loading and unloading is usually done within a half hour. The warehouse operation (both inbound and outbound) handles around 2,000 tons daily.

SHT Logistics’ main business comes from direct customers like Hainan Rubber Group, Linyi Feiyang Group, and CNCGC (China National Cotton Group Company). SHT Logistics is focusing on developing customers in rubber, cotton, plastic particles, wine and other bulk cargo.

In order to use the warehouse more efficiently, SHT Logistics also does business with other logistics companies such as Sinotrans and Super Chain Logistics.

SHT Logistics has its own customs clearance license which is also important in FTZ warehousing. Quick response and professional skills in customs clearance help SHT Logistics provide qualified services to its customers and attract more business.

In addition, SHT Logistics can arrange distribution within Qingdao and transportation nationwide. The distribution and transportation is provided by subcontractors.

SHT Logistics has had good results in the past; however, its cargo volume decreased in 2015 because of the economic downturn. There is still room for it to develop more business. SHT Logistics is open to cooperation with global 3PLs. It can provide competitive rates and high quality service to help global companies doing business in Qingdao.
