Meilian International Warehouse & Transport (Group) Co., Ltd. was founded in 1994. It’s headquartered in Chongqing, has branch offices in Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai and Shenzhen, plus representative offices in Hong Kong and Zhengzhou, and a total of 480 employees.

It handles 400 ocean export TEUs (20′ container/trailer equivalent units), 200 ocean import TEUs, 300 air export tons, and 300 air import tons per month. Although Meilian International handles both air and ocean freight forwarding imports and exports, its key business is air freight imports, warehousing, and customs clearance.

For warehousing, Meilian International has a 20,000 square meter bonded warehouse and a 38,000 square meter regular warehouse including 6,000 square meters for cold chain logistics.

For customs clearance, Meilian International has customs brokerage license and a good relationship with Chongqing customs. Meilian International operates a common bonded warehouse, which is the only one applied by Chongqing customs. All customs clearance for both air and ocean shipments is declared by Meilian’s staff, which means it can control the shipments smoothly and provide high quality services to its customers.

For air freight imports, Meilian International handles customs clearance very quickly and the operation is in its own warehouse. Meilian International books space with the carrier directly for air freight exports.

For ocean freight, most of the freight is shipped via the Yangzi River. Meilian International has contracts with about 24 carriers. Although the ocean freight volume in Chongqing is not substantial, Meilian is a key player in the market.

Meilian International’s customers include Chang’an Ford, Lifan Motorcycle and convenience store chain Lawson. A 6,000 square meter warehouse and four temperature controlled trucks are managed for Lawson. Acer and HP are using Meilian International’s common bonded warehouse in Chongqing.

In addition to its own offices, Meilian International has 54 overseas agents and a joint-venture company with Nissin Corp. to meet the demands of Japanese companies. This makes Meilian is very strong in Chongqing for customs clearance.

Meilian International focuses a lot of its sales efforts on West China. It handles a nice amount of business in the provinces of Guizhou, Sichuan and Yunnan as Chongqing is a good gateway for air freight in West China.
