Founded in 1979 by Managing Director Peter Wu and formerly known as Broadair Express Limited, BEL International Logistics Limited (BEL) is a leading freight forwarder in Hong Kong. In 2009, amongst a list of international logistics providers, BEL was the only Hong Kong-based provider to rank in the Top 8 for airfreight in Hong Kong. BEL handles 50,000 metric tons of airfreight and 20,000 TEUs (twenty-foot trailer/container equivalent units) of ocean freight annually. It has a Class A airfreight forwarding license and an NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) license enabling it to reserve space with carriers directly.

In addition to its headquarters in Hong Kong, BEL has three logistics centers with over 60,000 square feet of warehouse space and branch offices in Dalian, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, and Xiamen, China; Taipei, Taiwan and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

With an aggressive sales team and the ability to provide total logistics solutions, BEL has established a solid customer base. Armour, Dolce & Gabana, and Flextronics are major customers. BEL is the lead logistics provider (LLP) for Armour. BEL manages a warehouse for Armour and provides distribution in Hong Kong and globally.

As a major airfreight forwarder in Hong Kong, BEL’s Hong Kong office is managing approximately 3,500 metric tons of airfreight per month. Sixty percent of the volume is from shippers and the rest is from other logistics providers. BEL is a key charter flight operator in Hong Kong and Shanghai. It has established strong relationships with the airlines in China and was awarded “Top Cargo Agent 2009” for many companies including Cathay Pacific and Dragonair.

BEL International Logistics is a key player in Hong Kong with a good network in Mainland China and the potential to expand its network in Southeast Asia. In addition, it has established supportive agent relationships overseas allowing it to strengthen its global reach. As BEL expands its warehousing and distribution capabilities, we see more and more customers turning to BEL supporting its goal of becoming a leading logistics provider in China.
