19th Edition of Leading Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PLs) Guide Released

STOUGHTON, WI, September 13, 2011 – The 19th edition of the leading third-party logistics providers guide, Who’s Who in Logistics, has just been released. The new edition, in two volumes – The Americas and International, has been expanded with in-depth profiles of 304 3PLs.

New 3PL profiles added this year include: A&R Logistics, American Global Logistics, BEL International Logistics, Choice Logistics, Meritor Aftermarket Services, MultiPack Empresas Logísticas, Port Logistics Group, Round The World Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Shandong Rongqing Logistics, Shippers Warehouse, U.S. Xpress Enterprises, WEL Companies, Yusen Logistics (Americas), and Ze Han Logistics.

Of the 3PLs profiled, over 76% are private versus publicly traded companies. Who’s Who in Logistics profiles individual 3PL financial information, key personnel, information technology, and service capabilities. In addition, editorial evaluations, case studies and important news events are reported. Information is presented in sufficient detail to allow companies to quickly evaluate providers for logistics outsourcing initiatives.

Global supply chain managers such as C.H. Robinson, CEVA, DB Schenker, DHL, Kuehne + Nagel, Menlo Worldwide, Panalpina, Ryder, UTi, and Yusen Logistics are covered extensively. In-depth profiles are also presented for continentally based major players GENCO ATC, Jacobson, Kenco, Kerry, Mainfreight, OHL, Rudolf, Werner, Wincanton and others. Important niche specialists like BNSF Logistics, Coyote Logistics, Echo Global Logistics, Freightquote, LMS, Luis Simoes, SCI Logistics, TQL, and Transplace are reviewed in detail.

“Since our first publication in 1994, our guides have become a primary information source for third-party logistics market information,” said Evan Armstrong, president of Armstrong & Associates. “We are pleased at the increasing number of 3PLs being covered and the expansion of global coverage, especially in Asia. We are striving to continually build upon our goal of having information not available anywhere else. Almost half, or 151, of the 3PL profiles highlight international providers. Each profile includes assessments of the 3PLs overall capabilities, strengths and weaknesses and identifies 3PLs with the requisite capabilities necessary to be classified as Tier 1 Global Supply Chain Managers. These providers have extensive IT capabilities, over 5,000 employees and provide service to 90% or more of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).”

The two volumes contain 1,738 pages of information. They are available as PDF file versions or via an Internet on-demand version as an annual subscription. Online subscribers also receive the PDF file versions of the guides with their annual subscription. For premium market information, companies often purchase our Expert Information Service (EIS) which includes an online guide subscription, our annual financial analysis, customers of 3PLs report, and four hours of phone consulting for a discounted price.
